Resumo

The Fake News phenomena has become an important and harmful thing in our society, especially where democracy can be affected, such as in public spaces, courts or Justice Systems. In spaces like those, where fake news can be harmful not just for public organizations, but for democracy as well, it has become fundamental to study the fake news phenomena and its implications in different contexts. The study aims to describe the tensions regarding the social support of the Superior Electoral Court (TSE) and the Supreme Federal Court (STF) and to depict the reactions manifested by the Courts in the face of the implications of the occurrence of fake news on their social support from 2018 to 2022. The methodology of the article is qualitative and uses secondary data (Fake News extracted from fact Checking Agencies, courts Websites, Checking Panels, etc.) to identify the fake news scenario in the studied field and, uses as methodological Analytical tool the Framing Theory. The results show the exposure of organizations and institutions to fake news and how much this affects the social support of the courts. In short, it was found that fake news directs the public debate in the electoral sphere involving the Brazilian Superior Electoral Court and the Brazilian Federal Superior Court.
