CNPq Fellow – Pq 2 (Grant – 2013 – fluit). Resident researcher at IEAT (Institute for Advanced Transdisciplinary Studies of UFMG – 2022/2023). Former FAPEMIG Fellow (Minas Gerais Researcher PPM-00443-12). Visiting Fellow at the University of Baltimore School of Law (USA). Holds a law degree from the Pontifícia Universidade Católica de Minas Gerais (1990) and a Doctor degree in Philosophy of Law from the Universidade Federa; de Minas Gerais (1998). Former President of the National Council for Research and Graduate Studies in Law (Conselho Nacional de Pesquisa e de Pósgraduação em Direito)- CONPEDI (2007-2009). Former President of the Brazilian Association of Philosophy of Law and Sociology of Law – ABRAFI. Vice-President of the Internationale Vereinigung für Rechts- und Sozialphilosophie – IVR (International Association for Legal and Social Philosophy – 2019-2028). Section Editor for Legal Institutions at the Encyclopaedia for Philosophy of Law and Social Philosophy (Ed. Springer). Member of the Brazilian Association of Scientific Editors – ABEC, the Sociedade Brasileira para o progresso da ciência – Brazilian Society for the Advancement of Science – SBPC, the Italian Society for Law and Literature – ISLL, the National Council for Research and Graduate Studies in Law – CONPEDI (emeritus associate), the American Society for Philosophy of Law and Social Philosophy (Amintaphil), and the Brazilian Network for Law and Literature (RDL). Editor of Brazilian Law Jorunal – Revista do Direito Brasileira (ISSN: 2237-583X). His research deals primarily with Legal Education, Law and Literature, Freedom of Speech and Tolerance, especially in the fields of Legal Theory (Philosophy of Law) and Philosophy (Ethics).
