ABOUT

Ph.D. in Philosophy from UFMG (2014), with a doctoral research internship at the École des hautes études en sciences sociales (EHESS/Paris). The dissertation received the UFMG Thesis Award and Honorable Mention from the CAPES Thesis Award 2015 in the area of Philosophy/Theology. Master’s in Philosophy from UFMG (2005). Holds undergraduate degrees in Law and Philosophy, also from UFMG. Was a Visiting Professor at the Surveillance Studies Centre, Queen’s University in Kingston, Canada, as a fellow of the Institutional Program for Internationalization (PrInt/CAPES), between 2021 and 2022. Was a postdoctoral research fellow (PNPD/CAPES) in the Graduate Program in Philosophy at UFMG between 2014 and 2017. Taught between 2004 and 2013 at different higher education institutions: Milton Campos Law School, Pontifical Catholic University of Minas Gerais (PUC Minas), Jesuit Faculty of Philosophy and Theology (FAJE), and Faculdades Promove. Is linked to two collective projects within the scope of the PPGD UFMG: “Law and New Technosciences: Information, Neurosciences and Biotechnologies” and “Philosophy of Power and Radical Thought.” Works in the areas of Contemporary Philosophy, Political Philosophy, Philosophy of Law, on the question of Authorship and on ethical, political and legal problems linked to technological transformations and the digital world. In the field of information and communication technologies, has explored themes such as algorithmic governance, data justice, surveillance capitalism, data colonialism, algorithmic racism, the new informational ecosystem, artificial intelligence, regulation of digital platforms, and the fight against disinformation. In the field of philosophy and critique of law, works with contemporary authors, especially Michel Foucault, deepening the processes and devices of production of subjectivities, as well as the subversive practices of the author-function and the subject-positions, with special attention to dissident subjects, government practices, and power regimes.
