ABOUT

Prof. Trivisonno  has a degree in Law (1995), a master’s in law (1999) and a PhD in Law (2002), all from UFMG. Under DAAD sponsorship, he carried out post-doctoral research at the Institute of Philosophy of the University of Saarland (Germany – 2005). In 2010-2011, 2012 and 2013, under the sponsorship of the Alexander von Humboldt Foundation (Germany), he carried out post-doctoral research at the Chair of Philosophy of Law and Public Law at the University of Kiel (Germany), under the supervision of Prof. Dr. Robert Alexy. Prof. Trivisonno was a Visiting Professor at the University of Saarland (Germany – 2013) and at the University of Vechta (Germany – 2014). He carried out post-doctoral research at the Institute of Public Law, Constitutional Theory and Philosophy of Law at the University of Heidelberg in 2018-2019, with funding from the DAAD (Germany), the Alexander von Humboldt Foundation (Germany) and the University of Heidelberg (Germany) where he was again a Visiting Researcher in 2020-2021. Prof. Trivisonno translated the 1st edition of Hans Kelsen’s Pure Theory of Law (1934) into Portuguese (Editora Forense Univeristária, 2021). He is dedicated to research on the following topics: Kant, Kantian theories, theories of justice, legal positivism and post-positivism, Kelsen, Hart, theory of legal argumentation, principle’s theory, Robert Alexy, the concept and application of law as well as of human and fundamental rights, public international law, constitutional theory and constitutional law.
