Holds a Master’s degree, a Ph.D., and is a mother of a son and a daughter. Wa an Associate Professor at the Federal University of Viçosa (1992-2004) and is currently a Full Professor at the Faculty of Law of Federal University of Minas Gerais. From 2004 to 2005, she was a researcher at Foreign Affairs Canada – International Council for Canadian Studies. Her work lies at the intersection of reflections on legal production and the instruments and techniques for optimizing its effectiveness. From February 2008 to January 2009, she was associated with CETEL/Faculty of Law at the University of Geneva, where she conducted theoretical and field research (Ministry of Justice – OFF/Bern) in the area of instruments for legislative impact assessment (CAPES), a project also approved by CNPq. She is a member of IAL – International Association of Legislation. She is a Productivity Fellow in Technological Development and Innovative Extension – DT – Inova Defesa Project (Complex normative systems and the right to food. 2012-2013) CNPq. She coordinated the Digital Inclusion Center of the Human Rights Clinic at the UFMG Faculty of Law (2015) and the Project on the impact of the New Code of Science, Technology, and Innovation (Fapemig-2016). She was a Resident Researcher at the Institute for Transdisciplinary Advanced Studies at UFMG (2017/2018) with the project “Agri-food normativity in perspective: transversality, culture, and society.” She was part of the Special Chamber for Public Policies of the Minas Gerais State Research Support Foundation – FAPEMIG from 2019 to 2022. In 2021, she joined the Artificial Intelligence Laboratory – LIA, DCC- UFMG, with a Post-Doctoral Project on the risks to the right to food. In 2023, she joined the WUN Research Network in collaboration with the Universities of Lausanne and Pretoria, South Africa, on the use of assistive technologies for political participation. She carries out scientific dissemination through articles in JOTA and CONJUR’s Fábrica de Leis, workshops, seminars, and webinars. She is a member of the Brazilian Network of Women in Science – RBMC and the Women in Regulation Network. In 2024, she defended her thesis for full professorship at the Faculty of Law, titled: “Food Roots of Law: the role of food in the rules of coexistence.”
