ABOUT

Pedro Nicoli is a Professor at the Faculty of Law of the Federal University of Minas Gerais (UFMG) and a member of the Graduate Program in Law at UFMG. He holds a Doctorate in Law from UFMG. He completed two postdoctoral fellowships, one at UFMG in 2015 and another in the Department of Gender, Sexuality, and Feminist Studies at Duke University, in the United States. He was a visiting researcher at the Collège de France, the International Labour Organization, the Institute for Advanced Studies in Nantes, and the University of Strasbourg. He is the head of the Department of Labor Law and Introduction to Legal Studies at UFMG. He is the coordinator of Diverso UFMG – Legal Center for Sexual and Gender Diversity. He conducts research in Labor Law, Human Rights, and diversity, especially on topics such as precariousness, informality, margins of the world of work, gender, sexuality, LGBTQIA+ rights, and care. He is a member of the collective projects “Gender, Sexuality, and Law” and “Labor Law and Critique” of the Graduate Program in Law at UFMG, the international project “Revaluing Care in the Global Economy,” developed at Duke University, and the international project “Who cares? Rebuilding care in a post-pandemic world,” funded by the Trans-Atlantic Platform for Social Sciences and Humanities and several other national and international institutions.
