ABOUT
Interdisciplinarity is the guiding principle that directs all investigative efforts of our research groups at every level. We aim to integrate philosophical, scientific, and normative perspectives that encompass various fields of study, particularly in the interaction between cognitive/behavioral neuroscience, ethics, and law. Our focus highlights concerns with neuroethics (understood in its dual aspect as both the ethics of neuroscience and the neuroscience of ethics) and neurolaw (proposed as a threefold field encompassing the neuroscience of law, the law of neuroscience, and neuroscience within law). Key areas of interest for our research groups include free will, philosophy of science, interdisciplinarity, moral and legal decision-making, new technologies, artificial intelligence and organoids, culpability and legal responsibility, cognitive biases, vulnerabilities, and mental health.
