ABOUT
Professor of International Law at the Faculty of Law of the Federal University of Minas Gerais (UFMG), holds a Bachelor of Laws from UFMG (1988), an LL.M in Europäische Wirtschaftsrecht from the Universität zu Köln (1992), a Doctorate in Law from UFMG (1994), a Specialization in International Law from the United Nations – UNITAR (1999), a Post-Doctorate from The University of Texas (2005), and a Senior Post-Doctorate from the Universität de Barcelona (2015-2016). He was the “pro tempore” coordinator of the Postgraduate Course in Law at UFMG (2013) and a PQ2 Fellow of the CNPq (2007-2010). He is an Institutional and Course Evaluator for INEP/SINAES/MEC. He is the author of several legal works, including: Public International Law – 6th Edition (Arraes Editores, 2023); International Law Course (Amazon – 2018); Community and Integration Law (Síntese, 1999); and International Economic Law and Community Law (Del Rey – 1995). He is the coordinator and organizer of numerous legal works, including: GEDI Coming of Age: commemorative essays on the 18 years of activity of the International Law Study Group of UFMG – Vols. I and II (Amazon – 2019); Development and Market in the Globalized Society (Initia Via – 2013); International Procedural Law (Saraiva – 2012); The WTO and the Legal Regime of International Trade (UFMG – 2006); Sovereignty: old and new paradigms (Freitas Bastos – 2004); and, Brazil and International Economic Agreements (RT – 2003). He has experience in the field of Law, with an emphasis on International Law, working mainly on the following topics: International Law, New International Order, International Negotiations, International Economic Law, Integration Blocs, International Organizations, World Trade Organization – WTO, and International Environmental Law. He is an ad hoc consultant for CAPES and CNPq. He is an evaluator of Law Courses for INEP-MEC. He is the coordinator of the CEB – WTO Extension Project, the GEDI Extension Program, and the GEDI-DH Study Group. He is a member of the Jean Monnet Center of Excellence and the Standing Committee for the Recognition of Foreign Diplomas at the Federal University of Minas Gerais – UFMG. He is a member of the Minas Gerais Chamber of Mediation and Arbitration – CAMINAS. He is a member of the Brazilian Association of International Law – ABDI and the International Law Association – ILA-Brazil.
