The dedication and hard work endeavored by the former UFMG Law Graduate Program directors must be recognized and given their attention to the Program’s evaluation by the CAPES system. The preservation of the ranking and the constant commitment to pursuing a better classification were both priorities of the former administrations, which spared no effort to uphold the Program’s status as one of the best Graduate programs in Brazil. One must bear in mind that this is the first time that grade 7 is attributed to a Law Graduate program, so to evince the excellency of the UFMG Law Graduate Program in terms of education, research, and extension, among other Brazilian programs.

We must acknowledge the endeavors of all the professors who were involved in this mission and who were prompt to adequate themselves to the exigent accreditation requirements. In addition, thanks must be added to the scholars who searched for and nurtured national and international partnerships – fundamental not only for the Program itself but to the legal field considered as a whole – and who enrolled themselves in administrative activities of the Faculty Board and its commissions, all of them critical to support the Coordination.

We must also thank the students who devoted themselves to the scholarly excellency of their thesis and dissertations – many among them award-winning – and who occupied positions of accent at the scholar community right after receiving their diploma, as well as took action on research networks and groups, allowing the knowledge produced at the UFMG Law Graduate Program to meet further diffusion.

We must not fail to acknowledge the work of administrative technicians, public servers, and the outsourced staff who allowed the excellent operation of the Program, building the necessary conditions for its development in accordance with the adopted qualification standards.

Finally, the Coordination would like to thank the UFMG Dean Office of Graduate Studies, which demonstrated a constant spirit of collaboration, and the always attentive CAPES Coordination for Law, whose members showed continuous availability and openness to the Program during the last quadrennial. The same must said about the UFMG Deanship on International Relations and to all our foreign partners.
