The Schwarzman Scholars Application is Live!

We are delighted to announce that the application is now live for the 2020-2021 class of Schwarzman Scholars. The importance of our mission – to foster the next generation of global leaders and build greater understanding between China and the rest of the world – could not be more evident today. With your support, we look forward to meeting another outstanding group of talented young leaders from all corners of the world.

While we still feel like a new program, the third class of Schwarzman Scholars will graduate at Tsinghua University this July and the fourth class will arrive in Beijing this August to begin their orientation. For a glimpse into the experience of a Schwarzman Scholars, we encourage you to watch our short video below.

As a reminder, the program is open to candidates between the ages of 18 and 28 years old, regardless of nationality, who are proficient in English and have obtained an undergraduate degree or its equivalent. Mandarin skills are not required for admission. Whether in politics, business, sciences, or the arts, successful applicants are young people who have already begun to demonstrate the ability to lead, produce results in their fields, and a commitment to building understanding among people with differing perspectives.

To access the U.S./Global application and learn more about requirements, please visit the Schwarzman Scholars website. The U.S./Global application opened April 15th and closes at 11:59PM on September 26, 2019. (The deadline for candidates who hold passports from mainland China, Taiwan, Hong Kong, and Macao is May 31st. The China application can be found here.) A distinguished team of readers from around the world evaluates and narrows the pool of submitted applications based on an extensive set of guidelines. Each year, more than 400 candidates are invited to an in-person interview in Beijing, Bangkok, London, or New York, and those selected are notified of their acceptance by mid-November 2019.

Webinars and in-person information sessions for interested applicants will be hosted throughout the next several months leading up to the application deadline. To find out more, please sign-up for a session or contact us with any questions.

We hope that you will share this message with dynamic young leaders who you think should consider joining our community.

With many thanks,

Rob
